Discovery : YUNGBLUD

If there’s one thing I love about music, it’s the fusion of genres , and I think it’s what we are headed towards in the future. What I find particularly explosive is the mix between Rock music and the Hip hop culture, which you can’t find in many artists but what YUNGBLUD , energetic 21 year-old british performer, delivers for us.

Growing up with both hip hop and Rock influences (he’s actually the grandson of one of legendary band T-Rex’s members), he offers a powered-up sound mixing Pop, Rock and Rap touching on sensitive subjects such as politics, the young generation, addiction etc… Misunderstood as a child because of his eccentric personality, many have tried to make him fit society’s mold, notably through drugs which he talks about in his song « Medication ». As YUNGBLUD, he expresses the most honest version of himself and brings a fresh touch to the alternative scene with a bold and dynamic style that really makes him stand out.

I’ll admit that his first and recent album « 21st Century Liability » in his globality didn’t excite me as much as its singles that were released before because you can’t feel the Rock influences as much, which is too bad since that’s what interested me most about him. I still enjoyed the album and I can’t wait to be able to see him live because the energy must be crazy !
